Many people think the Museum of the Albemarle is just a History museum that interpretsand celebrates the cultural history of the Albemarle, an area spanning 13 counties across northeastern North Carolina. But the Museum of the Albemarle is more than just a Museum; it is also a nice venue for many other activities. Are you thinking of getting married? One of the first tasks on your to-do list is choosing a fabulous wedding and reception venue. And the question is: Where? The Museum of the Albemarle is a stunning building with a beautiful view of the Pasquotank River. A place to make the event part of a story that can be looked back on and enjoyed through photographs, videos, and memories as to the beauty of the event.
One of the exhibits now at The Museum is “I Do! Weddings in the Albemarle 1831 – 2015” exhibit. This exhibit will end December 31, 2017. Northeastern High School celebrated their 40th class reunion some weeks ago, with beautiful decorations and nice music. The Museum also has a kitchen facility to accommodate catered foods that the class reunion also took advantage of. All the former classmates had good time!
The Museum has large enough spaces that Perquimans and Northeastern High Schools celebrated their Proms here the last few years. The Portico was decorated with different subjects and the students had a wonderful time! Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Technologies has used the Museum for both proms and graduation ceremonies.
Church conferences and acting performances have been held in the comfortable and beautiful auditorium - another rental space available at the Museum.
A large conference room is available on the 4th floor. This has been utilized by representatives from the 13 counties who are now planning their 350th Anniversary next year!
